A small introduction

WHAT IS HYPERBARIC OXYGEN THERAPY (HBOT)

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a session in which a patient enters a pressurized chamber in order to breathe air or varying amounts of concentrated oxygen, with the pressure being anything above an atmosphere of 1.

HBOT is known to improve everything from low energy, chronic fatigue, improved performance, wound and scar healing, post stroke care, post surgical healing, to diabetes, anemia, Lyme disease, head and/or brain injuries, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, ALS, autism, dementia, bells palsy to name a few.

WHEN YOU HEAL YOURSELF, YOU HEAL EVERYONE WHO SEES YOU HEALING.

THE HEALING POWER OF OXYGEN IS NOT NEW.

HOW DOES HBOT WORK?

Under normal circumstances, oxygen is absorbed into circulation when we breathe and transported throughout the body only by red blood cells. Under pressure, oxygen can be dissolved into all of the body’s fluids, the plasma, the lymphatic system, the central nervous system fluids, and the bone. This allows us to dissolve, transport and deliver many more times the normal oxygen to our tissues and cells.

All healing strategies are better with oxygen. By increasing oxygen saturation of the tissues all tissues from the brain to the vascular system work better

WHY DOES IT WORK?

Oxygen is an essential fuel that initiates body and brain healing, from circulatory problems and non-healing wounds, to inflammation and fatigue.

HBOT helps the body to support its own healing process because oxygen has the ability to travel to areas of the body where circulation is low or blocked, allowing it to reach damaged tissues. The increased oxygen from hyperbaric oxygen therapy enhances the ability of white blood cells to kill bacteria, reduces swelling and allows new blood vessels to grow more rapidly into the affected areas.

Simply put — Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy provides extra oxygen absorption with minimal side effects making it safe and effective for a large variety of healing needs.

BENEFITS OF HBOT

  1. Increased oxygen perfusion: an immediate increase in free floating oxygen available for tissue use.
  2. Increased white blood cell function: improved neutrophil and macrophage activity.
  3. Anti-inflammatory: reduction of inflammatory cytokines, increase in anti-inflammatory cytokines.
  4. Anti-microbial/microbiome balancing: an increase in aerobic probiotics + a reduction in anaerobic pathogens.
  5. Neovascularization:  new blood vessel growth (Angiogenesis).
  6. Nerve healing factors: increases in VegF, BDNF, HIF1.
  7. Wound healing: increased capacity for healing (PDGF, VegF, collagen production circulatory healing).
  8. Stem cell release: up to 8-fold increase in mesenchymal and CNS stem cells.
  9. Vasoconstriction: decrease edema and swelling from damaged tissues.
  10. Mitochondrial healing: increase in size, shape and number of mitochondria.
